Wear A Flan For Shan

Wear a Flan 4 Shan is a suicide prevention charity event dedicated to honoring the memory of Shannen, a friend who lost her battle with mental illness. The event aims to raise funds for Shannen's family and provide support by offering psychological therapy sessions for them and the two girls who discovered Shannen. Participants will come together in Brisbane QLD, Australia to walk a 5km trek in solidarity, wearing flannel shirts to show their support. In addition, a virtual event will be held for those unable to attend in person.

Fundraising Target - $12,750

On the day we will be selling flannel pins and taking donations via a “go fund me” page in the hopes we may raise some funds to help those who are in need.

2024 is our inaugural event, and we hope to raise enough to purchase purchase 12 trauma psychology sessions for the two women that found Shan, and 12 Grief sessions for Shan's Mum and Sister.

Each therapy session (after rebate) costs around $266 per person. 12 sessions for 4 people adds up pretty quickly - we are grateful for any and all the support you can offer to help Shannens friends and family.

Note: Wear A Flan For Shan is in the infant stages of setup and as yet is not a registered charity. For this reason we will direct all donations and payment for merchandise through the go fund me page.
